THE SECOND HOUR OF THE TODD STARNES SHOW

1:05pm- Todd’s Tennessee Tirade! Crews removed two Confederate statues from two Memphis parks late Wednesday after the city sold them to a private entity.  The City Council voted unanimously earlier in the day to sell both Health Sciences and Fourth Bluff Parks where the Confederate statues were located.  Mayor Jim Strickland confirmed on Twitter that both Health Sciences and Fourth Bluff Parks “have been sold. Operations on those sites tonight are being conducted by a private entity and are compliant with state law.” Within minutes of the vote Wednesday night, a heavy police presence was seen near the Health Sciences Park — where a statue of Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Confederate Army general, is located. The other statue, of Confederate President Jefferson Davis, was located at Fourth Bluff Park. Council member Janis Fullilove told the newspaper it was a “crazy, crazy, crazy night.” “It’s really going down in history that this is the night they are going to take the statues down,” Fullilove said. “It’s a historic moment.”

THE FIRST HOUR OF THE TODD STARNES SHOW

12:05pm- Warning! The top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee delivered a dramatic speech Wednesday on the floor of the Senate to warn President Trump of “immediate and significant consequences” if he takes any action to remove Special Counsel Robert Mueller. “I believe it is up to every member of this institution, Republican or Democrat, to make a clear and unambiguous statement that any attempt by this president to remove Special Counsel Mueller from his position or to pardon key witnesses in any effort to shield them from accountability or shut down the investigation would be a gross abuse of power and a flagrant violation of executive branch responsibilities and authorities,” Virginia Sen. Mark Warner said.

12:20pm- Victory!  A triumphant President Donald Trump and jubilant fellow Republicans celebrated the passage of their $1.5 trillion tax overhaul Wednesday as a “historic victory for the American people.” The American people, however, will need some convincing. As Trump and GOP lawmakers gathered at the White House to cheer their first major legislative achievement — and the biggest tax changes in a generation — some Republicans warned that the party could face a painful political backlash against an overhaul that offers corporations and wealthy taxpayers the biggest benefits and triggers the loss of health care coverage for millions of Americans. There was no hint of anxiety at the White House, though, as the president and congressional Republicans pushed any qualms aside and reveled in a much-needed win at the end of a year marked by GOP infighting and political stumbles. “We are making America great again,” Trump declared.

12:30pm- Guest: Matt Schlapp, American Conservative Union chairman
