Todd Starnes Show – Dec 5

THE THIRD HOUR OF THE TODD STARNES SHOW

UPDATES:

2:05pm – Blame The Baker? The Supreme Court’s wedding-cake clash continues on Tuesday, when justices hear oral arguments in Masterpiece Cakeshop, Ltd. v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission. The case asks whether a Christian baker should be required to decorate a cake for a same-sex wedding, pitting First Amendment free speech and religious exercise rights against nondiscrimination protections. Advocates on both sides say the case is about more than a cake. The justices’ eventual ruling, expected by the end of June 2018, will set the tone for all future efforts to balance the needs of conservative religious believers and members of the LGBT community.

2:30pm- Guest: Kristen K. Waggoner serves as senior vice president of the U.S. legal division and general counsel, Arizona, with Alliance Defending Freedom. Guest: Jack Phillips, owner of Masterpiece Cake shop

2:50pm- A collaborative initiative in the City of Buffalo hopes to replace toy guns with non-violent toys. Organizers say the goal is to teach children in Buffalo that even toy guns could pave a path to violence as they grow up, and the toy gun exchange was inspired by the grim reality of gun violence in Buffalo.

THE SECOND HOUR OF THE TODD STARNES SHOW

UPDATES:

1:05pm- Get Em Roy! President Trump on Monday endorsed Alabama Republican Senate nominee Roy Moore, telling voters “we need” him to tackle illegal immigration, tax reform and more — after weeks of holding back his full support for the embattled candidate.  The White House made it official in a statement confirming Trump personally backed Moore during a phone call.  “The President had a positive call with Judge Roy Moore during which they discussed the state of the Alabama Senate race and the President endorsed Judge Moore’s campaign,” Principal Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah said.  Moments earlier, Moore tweeted that Trump had given his support and told him: “Go get ’em, Roy!” Not everyone is on board though.

Plus: The Log Cabin Republicans the nation’s premier Republican organization representing LGBT conservatives and straight allies — has come out with a new ad calling on Christians to act on their morals and “stand up against the theocratic demagogue” that they consider United States Senate candidate Roy Moore to be. “Roy Moore has spent his entire career using his bigoted brand of Christianity as a weapon to relentlessly attack members of the LGBT community, all the while allegedly preying upon the most vulnerable in our society,” said Gregory T. Angelo, president of the Log Cabin Republicans.

1:10pmET

Guest: Gregory T. Angelo, president of the Log Cabin Republicans

Guest: Bryan Fischer is the Host of Focal Point on American Family Radio

1:30pm- Can’t Hold Him Down! LaVar Ball says the punishment UCLA dropped on his son, LiAngelo, is worse than him going to jail … saying the school shouldn’t “hang him on a cross” over one mistake. LaVar is pulling LiAngelo from UCLA due to the school’s decision to indefinitely suspend his son. The Ball family patriarch now tells CNN’s Chris Cuomo the decision wasn’t just his and, in fact, Gelo agreed with the call. LaVar says Gelo trusted him to make the decision because … he was gonna be 1 and done — leaving UCLA after one season, and then heading to the NBA or Europe. LaVar says there’s no reconsidering — the decision’s done.

A former top counterintelligence expert at the FBI, now at the center of a political uproar for exchanging private messages that appeared to mock President Donald Trump, changed a key phrase in former FBI Director James Comey’s description of how former secretary of state Hillary Clinton handled classified information, according to US officials familiar with the matter. Electronic records show Peter Strzok, who led the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s private email server as the No. 2 official in the counterintelligence division, changed Comey’s earlier draft language describing Clinton’s actions as “grossly negligent” to “extremely careless,” the sources said.
