THE FIRST HOUR OF THE TODD STARNES SHOW
12:05pm- Attack! Wednesday on ABC’s “The View,” while discussing Family Research Council president Tony Perkins saying evangelical voters gave Trump a “mulligan” for his alleged sexual indiscretions, co-host Meghan McCain said “young Republicans” are not going to “stand for” evangelical groups’ anti-LGBTQ “crap.” McCain said, “Tony Perkins is someone who – obviously the head of Family Research Council but for some reason I didn’t realize he’s really extreme when it comes to being an anti-gay hate group. He endorsed ex-gay conversion therapy in 2016. He claims transgender policy has made restrooms into crime scenes. He said LGBTQ soldiers have made the military look like, quote, ‘a parade that looks like a bar scene in Star Wars,’ so, really respectful to our troops.” 12:10pmET Guest: Tony Perkins, Family Research Council President.
12:20pm- Amnesty! President Trump said he is open to offering young immigrants a pathway to citizenship over 10-12 years, as long as he gets billions of dollars to pay for a border wall and other security measures. Under his forthcoming immigration plan, which will be released Monday, Trump told reporters that protections for recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program would “morph into” citizenship over that period. “We’re going to morph into it. It’s going to happen, at some point in the future, over a period of 10 to 12 years,” he said. A senior administration official later clarified that citizenship is a “discussion point” in the plan and that young immigrants would have to meet certain conditions in order to gain it.
The official added the offer only applies to the nearly 690,000 immigrants who benefit from the Obama-era DACA program that Trump cancelled last fall. Those people are allowed to live and work in the U.S. without fear of deportation. In exchange, Trump is seeking $25 billion to build his long-promised wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, in addition to $5 billion in other border security measures. THE SECOND HOUR OF THE TODD STARNES SHOW
1:05pm- Let’s Meet! President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he was “looking forward” to speaking to federal prosecutors as part of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into ties between his 2016 campaign and Russia, adding that he would be willing to testify under oath. “I’m looking forward to it, actually,” the president said when pressed on the matter, according to audio released by CNN and MSNBC. Trump added that a sit-down would be “subject to my lawyers.” The president said in the impromptu and wide-ranging gathering with a group of reporters at the White House that they were discussing a time frame for the meeting in “about two or three weeks.” Pressed on whether he’d speak to investigators under oath, Trump combatively questioned whether Hillary Clinton, his campaign rival, had been interviewed under oath. “Did Hillary do it under oath?” Trump replied, repeatedly asking reporters. “She didn’t do it under oath, but I would do it under oath.” Guest: Monica Crowley, Conservative Commentator.
1:30pm- Criminals First! President Donald Trump ripped a group of Democratic mayors who pulled out of a White House event Wednesday over an immigration dispute, saying they “put the needs of criminal, illegal immigrants over law-abiding Americans.” Several prominent officials, including New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, announced they would not attend a working group session with the president at the White House out of opposition to the Justice Department’s latest action to crack down on so-called “sanctuary cities.” Trump, addressing local officials and reporters at the White House, slammed the decision. “The mayors who choose to boycott this event have put the needs of criminal, illegal immigrants over law-abiding Americans,” Trump said.
