NOTE: Trump 2020 Presidential Campaign national spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany was on the Todd Starnes Radio Show today addressing the tweet posted by former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley regarding the vice president.
TODD: I want to ask you guys about this report that came out yesterday afternoon this bizarre tweet from Nikki Haley — dispelling these rumors about her replacing Vice President Mike Pence on the 2020 ticket. I haven’t heard those rumors. Have you guys heard those rumors and what’s the campaign saying about all this?
KAYLEIGH: I haven’t seen her tweet but just to address the concept in general – the vice president is Mike Pence. The vice presidential nominee for our party is Mike Pence. That’s not changing. He has been a great ally of the president. The president has said that he’s the vice presidential nominee and that remains the case. So anything else is just a rumor.
TODD: And I think Vice President Pence has done a pretty, pretty terrific job serving this at this administration and being you know being a helpmate to the president there in the White House.
KAYLEIGH: No doubt about it. I mean Vice President Pence has been a great ally in Congress – able to go over there and lobby votes for things like the tax cut. He’s been an unashamed voice for religious liberty, for pro-life causes, for things that we hold dear – for freedom in Venezuela. This vice president has been an amazing ally of President Trump. That’s not changing. He’ll be right by the president’s side at the convention.
