WATCH: Dozens of Dads Line Up to Welcome Their Kids Back to School
An incredible thing happened outside a grade school in the Dallas area the other day. Dozens of dads showed up to welcome their sons and daughters back to class. The video is posted below.
Priscilla Shirer, one of the stars of the new faith-based film “Overcomer,” filmed the inspiring moment and posted the video on her Twitter page.

“The school had invited the dads to come up and make this incredible line on either side of the entry way so they could applaud every single student that was walking into their first day of school,” Shirer said during an interview on The Todd Starnes Radio Show.
One of those men happened to be her husband who made sure he was at the front of the line celebrating his son’s first day as a fifth grader – exchanging high-fives and clapping.
“My husband ran up so he could be one of the ones in line to salute our boy as he goes into fifth grade,” she said. “It was amazing and endearing.”
That affirmation of fatherhood is going to have a lasting impact on the young people at that elementary school. Those kids will remember when their dads showed up to celebrate their big day.
Fatherhood is also a central theme of “Overcomer,” the new movie from the Kendrick Brothers.
“Family is critical,” Shirer told me. “It’s the crux of society and so the health of society is reflected by the health of its families. And I so love that movies like (Overcomer) are drawing attention back to the family as the centerpiece of society.”

Fathers…lined up to welcome their sons and daughters back to school. Sending my Jude into his first day of fifth grade like this meant everything to me. Especially since his dad was the first one in line. ?? #meltmyheart #onegenerationtothenext pic.twitter.com/R5PsAG3bBr
