Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger announced his retirement Thursday after 18 seasons and two Super Bowl titles.

The 39-year-old Findlay, Ohio-native made the official announcement in a video posted to Twitter.
“I retire from football a truly a grateful man,” he said. “First and foremost, I need to thank the Lord for all the many blessings he has bestowed on me.”

He also thanked his wife, Ashley, and three kids for their love and support. “I love you so much.”
“Big Ben” closed with “football has been a gift and I thank God for allowing me to play it.”
