It’s not uncommon for basketballs to get stuck in or behind the goal during a game.
Usually, refs have no issues retrieving the lost ball. However, they struggled to dislodge the ball from behind the goal during Thursday’s NCAA match-up between Saint Mary’s Gaels and Indiana Hoosiers.
Well, one Indiana University cheerleader who literally stepped up and saved the game is being called a “March Madness hero.”

The cheerleaders, Cassidy Cerny and Nathan Paris, told TODAY it was a cool once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Saint Mary’s won the game 82-53.
