UPDATE: 9:38 A.M. – Television station WHAS reports the gunman was armed with a “long gun” at Old National Bank.
“He just started firing,” a witness told the television station. “I didn’t see his face. We were in the conference room. Whoever was next to me got shot, their blood’s on me.”
UPDATE: 9:36 A.M. – 5 people were killed, at least 6 injured in the shooting. A police officer was also wounded. The gunman is also dead.
UPDATE: 9:24 A.M. – “We are confirming reports of an active aggressor in the 300 block of East Main. Please stay out of the area. There are multiple casualties,” Louisville police said.
Gov. Andy Beshear said in a statement on Twitter that he was already en route to the scene.
“I am headed there now. Please pray for all of the families impacted and for the city of Louisville,” Beshear said.

DEVELOPING STORY: There are multiple victims being reported after an active shooting attack in downtown Louisville, Kentucky.
“There is an active police situation downtown,” Mayor Craig Greenberg said in a statement. “Please avoid the area around Slugger Field until further notice. We will provide information as soon as possible.”
