DEVELOPING STORY: The Pentagon released a statement saying Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has been transported to the hospital Sunday afternoon “for symptoms suggesting an emergent bladder issue”
“At this time, the Secretary is retaining the functions and duties of his office,” Pentagon Press Secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder said in the statement.
This isn’t the first time that Austin has faced serious health issues. Just months ago, he dealt with complications related to his treatment for prostate cancer and was in the hospital for several weeks.
