This year marks the 55th anniversary of the NFL’s Super Bowl and people across the country are ready to celebrate and enjoy one of Americas’ greatest traditions.

The two teams going head-to-head this year are the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, we have another surprise opponent competing this year, the Centers for Disease Control.

On the CDC’s website, they are providing a set of suggestions on how to safely enjoy the game.

The first recommendation is to celebrate virtually and only celebrate in-person with those you live with because it is “the safest way” to gather this year.

To celebrate virtually, they recommend you can make “a text group with other fans to chat about the game while watching.”

Another idea that they have is absolutely groundbreaking. They recommend that you decorate your home with your teams’ colors and wear their merchandise. I would not have thought to do that in a million years.

They also recommend that you, “[m]ake appetizers or snacks with the people you live with to enjoy while watching the game and share the recipes with your friends and family.”

What they neglect to mention on the website is that people participating in the appetizers shouldn’t double dip!!

While yes it may not be safe for those that are medically at risk to gather together but who’s to say those that are healthy enough can’t enjoy this event with friends or family.
