Dinesh D’Souza, the conservative author, told the “Todd Starnes Radio Show” Monday that Democrats will push to stay in coronavirus lockdown for as long as possible to hurt President Trump’s chances in 2020.

D’Souza said any swift economic recovery would clearly benefit Trump, who was already president during a historically low unemployment rate and a record-high stock market. If the president somehow balances the risks of new infections while orchestrating the country’s comeback, he could be unstoppable.
Trump on Monday accused Democrats of moving too slowly when it comes to reopening states, including Gov. Tom Wolf, the Democrat from Pennsylvania.
“The great people of Pennsylvania want their freedom now, and they are fully aware of what that entails. The Democrats are moving slowly, all over the USA, for political purposes. They would wait until November 3rd if it were up to them. Don’t play politics. Be safe, move quickly!” Trump said in a Twitter post.
D’Souza said besides stopping Trump, Democrats may be getting a “little taste of tyranny.”
D’Souza said Democrats have been historically efficient in using fear to influence voters. He pointed to coronavirus fears as an impetus behind strick lockdowns across the U.S. This is the same party that has been selling climate change as the real threat to our existence, he said.
“Climate change, if you think, relys upon hypothetical senerios of fear. The oceans will be rising and swallow up the cities, so apocolpse is a pretext for saying, ‘You must do what we’re saying right now or you will be dead in a few years.'”
He said coronavirus is “beautiful” for Democrats because it is “invisible” and can be used to stoke fears. D’Souza said he has been particularly concerned about the way health officials have been complicit in the fear mongering.
“The level of deception here is a little chilling,” he said.

Todd Starnes, the host of the radio show, asked about his feelings about the Democrat push for mail-in ballots. D’Souza, the author of the upcoming book, “The United States of Socialism,” said the initative is clearly in place because socialism is such a hard sell to the Americans people.
“So if they can rig the election in any way, they would love to do that,” he said. “If they could use the media to create a propaganda machine, they would love to do that; if they have to use the deep-state machine to set up their opponents, they will do that.”
