The political lynching of Sen. Jeff Sessions took an ugly turn on Capitol Hill when an MTV writer and personality attacked the Alabama senator’s granddaughter.
“Sessions, sir, kindly return this Asian baby to the Toys ‘R’ us you stole from her,” Ira Madison, III wrote on Twitter.
Mr. Madison is a culture writer for MTV news and co-hosts a podcast.

There is no reason for that child to be in his lap in a hearing other than to send an “I’m not racist message”

Why is she a prop? Sessions argued for policy that in the 1880s was used to discriminate against Asian Americans https://t.co/sZitqzLBS4

Fortunately, both the Left and the Right were outraged over the MTV employee’s vile posting.
This is beyond disgusting. I am deeply insulted by this. @MTVNews do you stand by these attacks on grand children? https://t.co/OzFFDNobad

This beautiful little girl is Sen Sessions’ granddaughter.
Lefty @ira of @MTVNews made a racial slur & called it a joke.
No one’s laughing. https://t.co/r8u6a7KnNq— Linda Suhler, Ph.D. (@LindaSuhler) January 10, 2017
Mr. Madison eventually deleted the tweet, but did not apologize for using a little girl to score a few cheap political points.
“I often tell jokes, but seeing as bringing up Sessions’ history of racial hatred of Asians is seen as an attack on his grandchild, I deleted,” he tweeted.
You can often tell the measure of a man by his words and deeds. Clearly, Mr. Madison is a man of short intellectual and moral stature.
