Bannon announced his intentions during a fiery speech at the 2017 Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C.
“Right now it’s a season of war against the GOP establishment,” Bannon said.
Gingrich told the Todd Starnes Show there is no reason to primary every Republican incumbent senator.
“If Bannon would take the same number of dollars and go to North Dakota, Indiana, Montana, Missouri and West Virginia, he could beat five or six Democrats. If we could pick up five or six seats from the Democrats in the senate, we could pass virtually everything.”
The former House Speaker called Bannon’s strategy “explicitly wrong” and “very dangerous.”
“I think it’s a huge mistake,” Gingrich said. “I’m in the business of adding not subtracting.”
