A woman running for public office in Helena, Montana left a violent message on the answering machine of Montana Republican Sen. Tim Sheehy.

Haley McKnight, a Democrat and she’s running for a seat on the city commission, said she hoped the freshman U.S. senator would “die in the street like a dog.” She was reportedly enraged that Sheehy voted to advance President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

“I hope that one day you get pancreatic cancer and it spreads throughout your body so fast that they can’t even treat you for it,” she said. “I hope that you die in the street like a dog. One day you’re gonna live to regret this.”

“I hope that your children never forgive you,” she continued. “I hope that you are infertile. I hope you never, manage to get a boner ever again. You are the worst piece of sh*t I’ve ever, ever, ever had, uh, the misfortune of looking at. And you don’t serve Montanans. You serve your own private interests. All that you have done since you’ve gotten into power is do sh*t for yourself. God forbid that you ever meet me on the streets, because I will make you regret it. F*ck you. I hope you die.”

The Montana Free Press reports that Haley defended the threats she made during the call and said she had no regrets – calling it “justifiable rage.” And she also portrayed herself as the victim, accusing the senator of “doxxing and bullying” for sharing her threatening message.

By the way, McKnight lost her election Tuesday night. She also lost her job and resigned from a young professional advocacy group.

Quite frankly, McKnight belongs either in jail or some sort of mental health facility. Let’s hope for the sake of the community she gets the help she needs – and stops leaving voicemail messages.
