Idaho National Guard Has “No Christians in Command” Policy

The Idaho Army National Guard is facing a federal lawsuit after they removed an officer from his command because he is a Christian.

Liberty Counsel, a law firm that specializes in religious liberty cases, alleges the Guard has a “No Christians in Command” policy.

Their investigation discovered that one commander had suggested the Guard implement a policy to monitor potential candidates for command for any concerning ideologies as a way of rooting out extremism in the ranks.

Major David Worley was accused of creating a hostile work environment for offering his opinion on drag queen events in public libraries and other gender-related issues.

Liberty Counsel founder Mat Staver tells me that Worley had been running for public office and was simply stating his position on a controversial issue of the day.

Worley wrote that there were only two sexes, male and female. He also expressed concerns about pornographic material for minors in public libraries and the “medical mutilation of gender confused children.”

“All of those are protected speech,” Staver said.

The comments were made long before Worley was promoted by the National Guard. It turns out a gay subordinate had performed a Google search to dig up dirt on the Christian officer.

As a result – a complaint against Worley was filed with the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission. They accused Major Worley of creating a hostile work environment. And he was removed from command.

Liberty Counsel also accused General James Packwood of creating a “No Christians in Command” policy that required that every person in command and everyone in the National Guard be reviewed for their religious beliefs.

“And if there’s anything that was concerning regarding their Christian beliefs or values, that they should not only be removed, but they should not be allowed to become a member of the National Guard,” Staver said.

Liberty Counsel is demanding Major Worley be restored and that the Idaho Army National Guard stop persecuting Christians.

“This is the toxic environment of the military under the Biden and also the previous administration of the Obama administration, where they have put in place these rogue leaders, even at the level of general,”Staver said. “And so these woke leaders have been pushing this kind of nonsense on the military and cleansing the military of people of faith and values and pushing this woke ideology, that DEI nonsense that has been hurting our military.”

Even more concerning is that Idaho Gov. Brad Little, who is a Republican, has refused to intervene. Little is in charge of the Idaho National Guard.

“So Brad Little’s weak leadership and this woke ideology is being revealed. I can tell you we will stop it. This will end and we’ll have a new day in our United States military,” Staver said.
