The president of Lipscomb University issued a public apology after an untold number of African American students were offended by a dinner table centerpiece made from stalks of cotton.

12:35 PM Jeff Roorda, Executive Director of the St. Louis Police Officers Association (SLPOA):

“I’m still waiting for the hope and love,” Roorda said of what’s happening in the streets of St. Louis following the mayor’s statements. Roorda said a lot of the rioting and looting is coming from out-of-towners, thugs and anarchists. “I don’t approve of vandalism against anyone…but the mayor needs to understand there are consequences to her words…”

It’s really disappointing that the mayor won’t support the judicial system, Roorda said.

“They’re very organized…they’re sort of medieval with their weaponry, throwing bricks and bottles.”

“The remedy to this is being honest with people….when our officers defend themselves, suddenly this heroin dealer is a hero…it’s bologna.”

12:05 PM The ratings came out for the Emmy’s, and it’s at an all-time low — much like the decline of the NFL ratings.
