Shameful Mainstream Media Uses Suffering Texans to Attack Trump

Leave it to the mainstream media to attack President Donald Trump’s character while families are still being pulled out of the wreckage in flood-ravaged Texas.

“Is there something missing in him?” the MSNBC host asked.

CNN’s Dana Bash believes Trump is not the “consoler-in-chief” and added, “Donald Trump is not warm and fuzzy and that’s not how he sold himself. He did sell himself as a can-do guy. So, the idea that he is chomping at the bit to congratulate himself, I think that’s probably how he should be measured because that’s what he cares about, and at the end of the day that really is what matters.”

Bash wasn’t the only one at CNN to give this “lack of empathy” talking point:

CNN senior White House correspondent Jeff Zeleny remarked that in his reaction to the historic storm so far, POTUS appears to be more focused on the emergency response, businesses and his crowds as opposed to the victims themselves.

He told CNN anchor Brianna Keilar:

“One thing I am struck by here, seeing all the stories of emotion, all the stories of loss, of devastation still unfolding — we do not know the extent of the damage here — very little in terms of empathy from this president. Very little in terms of emotion or talking directly to the people of Texas. He’s been talking about the businesses, talking about the response and his crowd. Certainly, this is a test, a new moment for this president. But how he’ll ultimately be judged, Brianna, as every president is in a disaster like this, is not on today, it’s on the response and the recovery and how Texas rebuilds if they get federal funds, etc., months, perhaps even years, from now.”

PBS – or as Fox News Channel’s Todd Starnes calls them, the “Public Welfare Broadcasting” – gave air time to Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

Sure enough, Rep. Jackson Lee politicized the devastation in Houston.

But CNN took it to the next level – because Trump rolled back Obama’s climate change work, it’s obviously his fault.

MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell insinuated on Monday’s The Last Word that Republicans are heartless on hurricane recovery funding due to simply who they are as people as exhibited by opposing Hurricane Sandy funding bill:
