MS NOW anchor Ali Velshi says he is conflicted about celebrating America’s 250th birthday.

During a recent cable television segment, Mr. Velshi announced that he feels a “deep unease” about celebrating the land of the free and the home of the brave.

“Anniversaries are imperfect records of the thing which is being celebrated. In America’s case, anniversaries often gloss over the racial dynamics underlying much of america is history in politics issues that remain unsolved because America has never actually fully reckoned with its racist past and its original founding sin of slavery,” he said.

“in one month America will mark the 250th anniversary of its founding. Like previous anniversaries there is a deep unease about this. I feel a deep unease about these celebrations to which I am invited to mark the 250th anniversary of our so-called democracy,” he added.

Here’s what you may not know about Mr. Velshi.

He was born in Kenya and raised in Canada. In 2015, he swore an oath to become a naturalized citizen of the United States.

Maybe his Canadian school teachers failed to inform him that more than 640,000 Americans were killed during a war that led to the abolishment of the nation’s “original sin.” Or, perhaps he doesn’t think enough people died.

We welcomed this ungrateful progressive into our nation. And by all measures, he is living the American dream. Published reports have estimated his net worth to be in the millions.

Does anyone seriously believe that would have happened had Mr. Velshi remained in Kenya — or even in Canada?

Highly unlikely.

And that is why, for all his hand-wringing about America, Ali Velshi is not going anywhere. He is living the good life in the very nation he now seems so conflicted about celebrating.

So on July Fourth, while Americans toast our Founding Fathers, fly the flag, and enjoy burgers and hot dogs with family and friends, might I offer a suggestion to aggrieved immigrants like Ali Velshi?

Show a little gratitude.

Honestly, I don’t care what Mr. Velshi or any other ungrateful immigrant thinks about the America 250 celebration. Lady Liberty pleaded with the world to send us people yearning to be free, not a bunch of whiny ingrates.

On second thought, maybe we should just denaturalize and deport Mr. Velshi. I’m sure he’d be much happier hosting a cable television program from a hut in Kenya.
