Louie Giglio: We’ve Got to Face our Giants

By Caleb Parke/Twitter

Louie Giglio, the pastor of Passion City Church and the founder of the Passion movement, shares about his battle through anxiety and depression in his new book, “Goliath Must Fall.”

Giglio appeared on the “Todd Starnes Show” Tuesday, and wanted to let listeners know that pastors go through the same stuff that folks in the pew go through.

“We’re all woven out of the same fabric…we’re all human and the world is a fearful place…America is more stressed and more anxious than we’ve ever been as a nation,” Giglio told Todd.

“When I write ‘Goliath Must Fall,’ it’s not somebody in the pious pulpit talking down to the people about all the solutions God has for their life. It’s really a hopeful story of a real-life guy, that’s me, who has come through a really dark valley in life, and knows for a fact that the Twenty-Third Psalm isn’t just the most well-known passage of scripture in history, it actually is a roadmap for how to let God lead us through the valley of the shadow of death, and He will do that if we will trust Him to do it.”

Giglio talks about the giants we’re facing today: rejection, anger, addition, comfort, anxiety, and fear to name a few, but SPOILER ALERT, the Passion City pastor shares the biggest revelation in his new book:

“We’re not the hero of the story…of David and Goliath. Jesus is the hero. Jesus is David and He’s already taken down all the giants. We just have to learn to walk in the work that He’s already accomplished for us.”
