Former Superman actor, Dean Cain, has come out and said that Marvel Comics is going too ‘woke’.
Mr. Cain recently made an appearance on Fox & Friends where he talked about Marvel’s newest Captain America comic line titled “The United States of Captain America”.
In the comic’s first issue, Captain America himself makes the comment that the American Dream “isn’t real” for everyone. Cap specifically claiming it isn’t real for immigrants.
Cain says in the interview “I love this country. It’s not perfect. We are constantly striving for a more perfect union…But I believe she’s the most fair, equitable country ever with more opportunity than anyone’s ever seen.”
I am more of a Marvel guy myself but I have to side with Superman on this one.
This new comic line is about how someone has stolen Captain America’s iconic shield and Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson, a.k.a. Falcon, travel all across America to find it. Along the way, they meet up with several other versions of Captain America.
Some of these other versions include a young African-American woman and a Native American man.
If the American Dream isn’t real, why would there be multiple versions of Captain America that wear the red, white, and blue uniform?
Cain said that it appears the “cool, the fashionable thing to do is to bash and to hate America.” In my opinion, you can’t hate and represent something at the same time.
