If your cat has gone missing in Springfield, Ohio – it might be on somebody’s dinner table.
Springfield, Ohio was once an idyllic place to raise a family – 45 miles west of Columbus on the Mad River. A town that is now at the center of the nation’s illegal immigration crisis.
The Biden Administration dumped more than 20,000 Haitian refugees in Springfield – now representing almost a third of the city’s population.

More than 300,000 Haitians were granted temporary protected status. And they have now settled in many of our smaller cities and towns – overwhelming hospitals, schools and law enforcement.
The Haitians in Springfield now represent more than a third of the entire population – an American city – overrun by migrants – a city that feels abandoned by the federal government.
Last year an 11 year old boy was killed and 23 children were injured when a Haitian without a drivers license rammed a school bus.
Springfield is home to food service firms, a microchip maker and an auto parts manufacturer – but many of those jobs are going to the migrants – not Americans.
Local health clinics have been overwhelmed – and so have schools – some 350 new students registered for the first week of classes. Many of the kids cannot speak English – so the school is having to hire dozens of second language teachers.
It’s the same story we’ve heard in places like Aurora, Colorado and in Alabama and Mississiippi – a state that is spending more than $100 million to take care of illegals.
But there’s another issue facing Springfield – there are allegations that the newcomers have been using a local park and pond as a grocery store.
And many residents say they feel unsafe in their own neighborhoods – one woman begged city council members to intervene – saying she was being forced from her home of nearly 40 years.
Senator J.D. Vance raised the national profile of the situation – writing this on X:
“Months ago, I raised the issue of Haitian illegal immigrants draining social services and generally causing chaos all over Springfield, Ohio. Reports now show that people have had their pets abducted and eaten by people who shouldn’t be in this country. Where is our border czar?”

We reached out to Springfield City Hall and asked point blank whether the migrants had a hankering for chicken fried kitten. Here’s what they told us.
“In response to recent rumors alleging criminal activity by the immigrant population in our city, we wish to clarify that there have been no credible reports or specific claims of pets being harmed, injured, or abused by individuals within the community.”
Again – we have no way of independently verifying whether the migrants are feasting on felines — but if it’s true – President Trump may very well carry the childless cat lady vote in the Buckeye State.
