The Army announced an investigation into at least two officers for posting sexually explicit images of themselves on social media with dog-shaped bondage gear while in uniform.
“The photos, which have appeared on social media, show male soldiers in uniform, or parts of uniforms, wearing dog masks, leather and chains,” USA Today reports.
The officers, including a colonel, were reportedly at a base in Hawaii and in a sexual relationship, according to the Daily Wire:
A Twitter account called NoVA Campaigns posted a Twitter thread revealing that the retired officer was Army Colonel Brian T. Connelly, of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. Connelly was stationed to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hicks in Hawaii. He frequently posted sexually explicit pictures of himself, as well as other photos of himself in uniform and wearing a dog mask, on an Instagram page of the same name.
Connelly was also in a sexual relationship with Captain Dayton Tenney, who went by the name “HonuPup” on social media. Connelly and Tenney are members of the “pup play” kink community, a BDSM-related sexual fetish where individuals dress up in leather masks and tails and act like dogs for sexual satisfaction. Connelly was photographed with other members of this community on his Instagram. According to NoVA Campaigns, both officers had multiple partners.

The account @PupRavage describes himself as a “rubber enthusiast,” “bondage expert,” and “chastity aficionado.” It also lists his account as “18+” and reportedly contained sexually explicit photos. On Reddit, an account with the same handle, describes himself as a “soldier, active member of the pup community since 2006” and “alpha to 3 collared pups — Honu, FRAGO, and Stuttgart – and a boy,” all of whom he said are “military.” He discusses being “kinky in the military.”
“As while ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ is thankfully far behind us, some things are still ‘inappropriate’ for senior military leaders – and flaunting one’s fetish is certainly among those,” PupRavae wrote in a post. “This pup is so happy to be finally shaking off those puritanical notions – and finally living his best pup life!”

The other account @AdjutantPup has since been deleted, but screenshots show it posted sexually explicit material while in Army uniforms.
“U.S. Army Pacific is aware of content found on social media reflecting soldiers’ activities while wearing uniforms,” U.S. Army spokesman Major Jonathan Lewis said in a statement. “The incident is currently under investigation.”
According to former chief prosecutor for the Air Force, Don Christensen, a retired officer could be brought back to active duty and court-martialed or retired at a lower rank.
“All US Army soldiers are expected to uphold high standards of personal conduct and to avoid discrediting the service and the uniform, both in person and across social media,” Cynthia Smith, an Army spokeswoman, said in a statement.
