DEVELOPING: Multiple people are dead, including children, after an “active shooter” incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas Tuesday, ABC News reported.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said 14 students and one teacher were killed in the shooting.
The outlet also reports that the suspected shooter, 18, is dead.
Uvalde Memorial Hospital confirmed that at least two children have died and 13 students were being treated in the ER. A 45-year-old individual was also hospitalized.
The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District asked people to stay away from the area.
“There is an active shooter at Robb Elementary,” the school district said on Twitter. “Law enforcement is on site. Your cooperation is needed at this time by not visiting the campus. As soon as more information is gathered it will be shared.”
“Parents are asked to pick up students at the regular dismissal times at the child’s campus. There will be no bus transportation. Officers will be on site to escort students to the parents cars,” the district added. “Parents please be patient as lines will be long.”
