BULLETIN: Active Shooter on Capitol Hill Was False Alarm

UPDATE: U.S. Capitol Police said the incident was a false alarm and Washington Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Hugh Carew blamed the evacuation on a “bad call.”

“A call came in for an active shooter. It appears to be a bad call. No injuries and no shooter were located,” Carew added.

ORIGINAL STORY: A possible active shooter has been reported at the Senate Russell building on Capitol Hill, according to Capitol Police.

Law enforcement responded to a 911 call and are currently searching around the building.

Everyone in the area has been ordered to stay in place.

The Senate is not in session.

This is a developing story.
