An unhinged professor who attacked pro-life students in New York was arrested Thursday.
Shellyne Rodriguez was charged with menacing and harassment, according to the NYPD.
Students for Life of America posted footage of Rodriguez verbally assaulting and vandalizing one its pro-life club’s tables at Hunter College, where she was later fired.
Rodriguez accused the pro-lifers of being “violent” for triggering her students.
The former adjunct professor wielded a machete and threatened to “chop up” a New York Post reporter Reuven Fenton when he showed up to her doorstep to ask about the incident.
The NYPD said Rodriguez allegedly followed Fenton out of the building with a machete, chased him along the street and kicked him in the leg.
“The New York Post story illustrates what the Pro-Life Gen is dealing with on a daily basis…unhinged, unreasonable, and aggressive opposition to pro-life free speech including from those in leadership at schools across the country,” said Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins. “Free speech rights students are afraid to use don’t exist, which is why we have to keep fighting for our Constitutional freedoms.”
Rodriguez told ARTnews she is the victim in all of this, claiming Hunter College “capitulated” to “racists, white nationalists, and misogynists.”
But she went even further.
“Right wing media organizations are weaponizing and sensationalizing this case to further their agenda, and using me as a prism through which to project their attacks on women, trans people, black people, latinx people, migrants, and beyond,” she added.
