Dems Say Forcing Truckers to Know English is Racist
All of the California Democrats running for governor say forcing truck drivers to have a rudimentary knowledge of the English language is racist.
For most Americans it would seem to be a reasonable requirement. We should want anybody driving an 80,000 pound truck to know the meaning of phrases like “yield” or “sharp curve ahead.”
But California Democrats say forcing black and brown Californians and illegal immigrants to know what the word “stop means is racial profiling – and in some cases – a form of terrorism.”
“Let’s stop with this whole racism thing and racial profiling and all of this garbage,” he said, after being asked about California Highway Patrol officers questioning truck drivers in English. “We have to get over this,” the Riverside County sheriff said.
Democrat Katie Porter blasted Bianco, saying she was “stunned” by the sheriff’s comments and said that minority truckers were being “terrorized and racially profiled.”
Steve Hilton said it is “completely ridiculous that we have people driving on our roads who can’t understand road signs and can’t speak English.”
Both Republicans are correct. The executive order has nothing to do with racism and everything to do with public safety. Some 17,000 illegals were able to obtain CDL’s in California alone. Sanctuary cities like California are putting millions of lives in danger.
The California Highway Patrol began enforcing English-language proficiency requirements for roadside traffic stops earlier this year, following President Trump’s executive order requiring English proficiency for commercial truck drivers.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy withheld $160 million in funding from California because Gavin Newsom refused to cancel those CDL’s issued to illegals.

Hilton delivered an emotional summary of just how dangerous California’s sanctuary state policies have become – telling the story of Dalilah Krause – she was five years old when an illegal alien from India caused a multi-car pileup.
Dalilah suffered critical and life-altering injuries. She suffered a broken femur and skull fractures. She lost her ability to walk, talk and eat orally.
The man behind the wheel – crossed the southern border in October 2022 and was released into the country by the Biden Administration. Had he just been deported – little Dalilah would be wrapping up her first year in kindergarten.
Instead, California Democrats gave the illegal a commercial driver’s license – and now Dalilah will need life-long therapy.
All of the Democrats on stage last night – would say the true victim is the illegal alien. But Mr. Hilton and Mr. Bianco rightly pointed out that banning illegals from getting CDL’s is obvious common sense. One final thought:
Summer vacations are just around the corner – lots of Americans will be hitting the roadways – on their way to the Gulf of America or Dollywood or Silver Dollar City.
Back in the 1970’s there was no greater joy than hanging out in the back of the family station wagon “Convoy” playing on the eight-track – pumping our hands in the air – hoping the trucker would blow that horn.
But those days are long gone – and now – kids are strapped into their seats – a big rig driver from Pakistan on their bumper – praying to the good Lord that they’ll make it to Buc-ee’s in one piece. Mercy sakes, America.
