Starbucks, the popular Seattle-based coffee shop chain, announced it will no longer follow President Biden’s mandate for workers.
Previously, Starbucks had said it would require its employees to get the jab, but following the recent Supreme Court ruling that struck down the national mandates, the company released a statement Tuesday saying it was reversing its policy, the Associated Press reports.
“We respect the court’s ruling and will comply,” Starbucks Chief Operating Officer John Culver said.
The company, which employs 228,000 people across the country, also told workers to stop wearing cloth masks and instead use “medical-grade surgical masks.”
