DEVELOPING STORY: Trump National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt blasted President Biden’s handling of the Iranian-backed attack on U.S. troops that killed three soldiers and injured more than 40. Watch the interview above.
“Three soldiers are now dead because of Joe Biden’s dereliction of duty on this front and his reversal of the Trump era policies that were incredibly effective in not only weakening the Iranians, but also, deterring further aggression in the region,” she said on the Todd Starnes Radio Show.
“This death and destruction that we’re seeing in the Middle East would have never occurred under President Trump’s watch,” she said. “We know that because it didn’t occur when he was in the White House for four years. And yesterday, the tragic day that we had three brave soldiers, service members killed, just goes to show how badly this country needs Donald Trump back in the Oval Office in implementing a peace through strength foreign policy.”
ORIGINAL STORY: President Trump condemned the Iranian-backed attack that left at least 3 U.S. service members dead and more than 30 critically injured at a base in Jordan. The suicide drone attack happened while the troops were sleeping.
“The drone attack on a U.S. Military Installation in Jordan, killing 3 American Servicemembers, and wounding many more, marks a horrible day for America,” the president said in a statement. “My most profound sympathies go to the Families of the Brave Servicemembers we have lost. I ask all Americans to join me in praying for those who have been wounded.”
The attack happened at a base in northeast Jordan near the Syrian border.
This brazen attack on the United States is yet another horrific and tragic consequence of Joe Biden’s weakness and surrender.
“This brazen attack on the United States is yet another horrific and tragic consequence of Joe Biden’s weakness and surrender,” Trump said.
President Biden released the following statement:
Today, America’s heart is heavy. Last night, three U.S. service members were killed—and many wounded—during an unmanned aerial drone attack on our forces stationed in northeast Jordan near the Syria border. While we are still gathering the facts of this attack, we know it was carried out by radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq.White House
Jill and I join the families and friends of our fallen—and Americans across the country—in grieving the loss of these warriors in this despicable and wholly unjust attack. These service members embodied the very best of our nation: Unwavering in their bravery. Unflinching in their duty. Unbending in their commitment to our country— risking their own safety for the safety of their fellow Americans, and our allies and partners with whom we stand in the fight against terrorism. It is a fight we will not cease.
The three American service members we lost were patriots in the highest sense. And their ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten by our nation. Together, we will keep the sacred obligation we bear to their families. We will strive to be worthy of their honor and valor. We will carry on their commitment to fight terrorism. And have no doubt — we will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner our choosing.
President Trump blamed the Biden’s Administrations weakness for more than 150 attacks on U.S. troops in the Middle East.
“This terrible day is yet more proof that we need an immediate return to PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH, so that there will be no more chaos, no more destruction, and no more loss of precious American lives. Our Country cannot survive with Joe Biden as Commander in Chief,” Trump said.
