DEVELOPING STORY: Firefighters are battling a massive blaze on Main Street in downtown Buffalo, New York. At least one firefighter is unaccounted for. The four-alarm fire broke out at DC Theatricks, a costume shop. Watch the moment the explosion occurred:
The Buffalo News reports that a “may day” call was issued after the building partially collapsed — hindering rescue efforts.
Buffalo Diocese Bishop Michael W. Fisher arrived at the scene, the newspaper reported.
“I was one of the first people out here and for a few seconds it was just smoke,” Jason Colston told television station WZRG. “The there was a burst of flames and you could hear the floor fall and the firefighters started yell about how the floor it fell.”
