It’s political theater at its finest on Capitol Hill. Government Shutdown: The Musical. Lots of blockbuster bloviating and bluster from a bevy of blowhards. A Chorus Line of Congressmen tap dancing around the issues. Republicans delivering monologues on fiscal responsibility. Democrats weeping and wailing over the plight of illegals. Performances no doubt worthy of a Tony Award.
The clock is ticking and in just a few short hours – it will be known as the night that the lights went out in DC. President Trump all but predicting that the Democrats will not budge. And that’s an important truth – an inconvenient truth for the Democrats and their propagandists in the media.

The Democrats are willing to make millions of Americans suffer unless Congress restores funding to NPR and PBS. A half billion dollars to National Public Welfare Radio and their pals over on Sesame Street.
The Democrats are also demanding taxpayer funded healthcare for illegal alien invaders.
But Speaker Johnson and Majority Leader Thune and the White House have drawn a line in the sand. Either vote for the Continuing Resolution – or the government shuts down.
Now – I’m not blowing smoke here folks – the truth is that Continuing Resolution is a steaming pile of stinky fertilizer.
Senator Rand Paul, the Republican gentleman from the Commonwealth of Kentucky warns that the CR is $400 billion dollars more than before Covid. We are still at the same Biden era spending levels.
But the other side wants open borders and men playing in women’s sports. They want to medically mutilate your kids. And they want to give your doctor’s appointment to an illegal from Guatelmala.
Now – there is going to be some good things that happen if the government shuts down. OMB Direcotr Russ Vought instructed federal agencies to prepare for mass firings. Cutting the fat.

Employees deemed non-essential will be furloughed. Side note here folks – but if a worker is non-essential why do they have a taxpayer funded job in the first place?
Meanwhile, Brand new polling out today from The New York Times – an overwhelming majority of Americans say the Democrats should NOT shut down the government. 65 percent – according to all of those polled.
But when you break down the numbers by political party – it gets really interesting 92 percent of Republicans say the Democrats should not shut down the government. 43 percent of Democrats broke from their party to side with the GOP and 59 percent of Independents say no shut down.
In other words – saving a transgender muppet on Sesame Street is just not worth a government shutdown.
