Slain NYPD Officer Leaves Behind Pregnant Wife, 2 Sons
Didarul Islam, 36, was married and his wife was eight-months pregnant when he was fatally shot by 27-year-old Shane Tamura inside 345 Park Avenue, high-ranking law enforcement sources said. The couple also had two other young boys.
“He‘s an immigrant from Bangladesh, and he loved his city, and everyone we spoke with stated he was a person of faith and a person who believed in God and believed in living out the life of a Godly person,” Mayor Eric Adams said.

NYPD Officer Shot in Back Has Died
At least two NYPD officers were shot by the gunman. One, who was hit in the back, has died.
Police Commissioner: The Shooter Has Been Neutralized
The NYPD Commissioner issued a brief statement: “At this time, the scene has been contained and the lone shooter has been neutralized.”
Eyewitness: Gunman Shouted, “Free Palestine”
Newsmax is reporting that the gunman was armed with rifle and reportedly shouted, “Free Palestine.” The witness, which you can watch below, said the suspect was saying “Free Palestine” and had his face covered in Palestinian “stuff.”

From The New York Post: “A crazed gunman wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying an assault rifle opened fire inside a swanky Midtown skyscraper that houses the Blackstone and NFL Monday — leaving one cop in serious condition during a shootout, sources said. The man entered the building armed with a rifle, law enforcement sources told The Post.”
FBI Responding to NYC Shooting
FBI New York Field Office management personnel and agents are responding to provide support at the active crime scene in Manhattan.
NYPD Officer Among Victims
ABC News reports that at least police officer is among the victims. They say the officer and civilian were shot on the street at 52nd Street and Park Avenue by a suspect who fled into an office building. There is currently a lockdown at the office building at 345 Park Ave.
