House Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused to take a telephone call from Vice President Mike Pence alerting her that American troops were under attack in Iraq.
Politico’s Heather Caygle shared the jaw-dropping scoop on Twitter.
“Tell him I’ll call him back,” Pelosi said according to sources in the room, noting she had to go open the House for a new session.

Fox News reported that Pelosi returned the call just after 6:30 p.m. eastern time.

Americans were under attack and Speaker Pelosi refused to answer the phone. It sounds like something President Obama or Hillary Clinton would do.
In meeting tonight Speaker Pelosi was handed a note telling her VP Pence was on the phone.

Two minutes later, she was handed note about air base bombing.
