Is Congress trying to intentionally sabotage President Trump’s America First agenda? Hello Americans, I’m Todd Starnes. Welcome to the show and thank you for watching.

In President Biden’s first 100 days the Democrat-controlled Congress delivered 11 bills to the president’s desk. But in President Trump’s first 100 days – the Republican-controlled Congress only sent five – and one of those was Biden’s Continuing Resolution to keep the government open for business.

President Trump has signed dozens of Executive Orders and Congress should be working around the clock to codify those pieces of legislation.

How difficult would it be for the House and Senate to stand up for female athletes or protecting teachers from violence in the classroom?

The American people sent Republicans to Washington with a mandate – to implement America First policies – policies that will make America great again.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s army of activist judges have taken more action on Trump’s executive orders than the entire Republican Party apparatus.

Instead, it appears to be business as usual on Capitol Hill.

“Congress is not doing its job and to deliver the People’s mandate,” said Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in a lengthy X post. “I will not willingly go along with another Republican Congress that doesn’t understand the moment we are in and courageously seize it.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson and Majority Leader John Thune are missing in action. Where are they? Where is our leadership? I would love to ask them in person – but Johnson and Thune are the only two leaders on Capitol Hill that refuse to come on my show. Why is that? I’m a nice guy. I don’t do gotcha on this program. But I do ask tough questions. Tough, but fair. And I don’t work off anyone’s talking points.

At first, I thought maybe the Republicans were just overwhelmed by the amount of work Trump was sending their way – or maybe their caucus lacks a solid work ethic. Maybe a vitamin deficiency? But I don’t think that’s it.

I’ve noticed the Republicans have plenty of time on their hands to sip martinis and attend country club fundraisers and make appearances on certain cable news channels. It’s too bad they don’t put the same sort of elbow grease into codifying the president’s agenda.

In Washington, perception is reality and so are optics.

And it certainly appears that congressional leadership is passively undermining President Trump’s agenda. There’s no excuse for Republicans not to seize this historic moment. But that’s what happened during the first two year’s of the president’s first term in office.

Establishment Republicans are entrenched in the same Beltway grift and corruption that the Democrats are. They are enriching themselves on all sorts of financial schemes paid for by the American taxpayers.

And it’s clear from their inability to deliver on the president’s agenda – that congressional Republicans are not putting America First.

The clock is ticking, the midterms are just around the corner and if the Republicans dillydally – they could very well lose the Congress.

It’s not time to hit the panic button, just yet.

However, you might want to pick up the phone or send an email to your elected members of Congress to put down the martini glass, get off their Blessed Assurance and get back to work.
