U.S. Senate Offers Prayer For ‘Butcher of Tehran’

The Biden Administration is mourning the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, while many people in Tehran celebrate his passing. Raisi, along with Iran’s foreign minister and several others were killed over the weekend in a helicopter crash.

He was known as a ruthless leader who oversaw the deaths of thousands of Iranians. Forbes Magazine reports that Raisi even ordered the execution of children.

He earned the nickname “Butcher of Tehran” for participating in the so-called death commission that ordered the executions of thousands of political prisoners in 1988.

The State Department issued official condolences and the U.S. Ambassador rose in the United Nations during a moment of silence.

Senate Chaplain Barry Black even offered a prayer: “Lord, we pray for the Iranian people who mourn the death of their President.”

Maybe the chaplain should have offered a prayer for the families of those slaughtered by the Butcher of Tehran.

And the family of Laken Riley, the Georgia college student murdered by an illegal alien, is still waiting for a condolence letter from the White House.
