As much as I wish it was, the following story about President Biden is not from the Babylon Bee.
Earlier this evening the Leader of the Free World posted a twitter message affirming the emotional wellbeing of Elmo, the Sesame Street puppet that enjoys being tickled.
Elmo had asked his social media followers to check in and share how they were handling life’s issues.
“Elmo is glad he asked,” the puppet tweeted. “Elmo learned that it is important to ask a friend how they are doing. Elmo will check in again soon, friends! Elmo loves you.”
The puppet included the hash tag, “EmotionalWellBeing.”
President Biden retweeted the Sesame Street character’s message and added an “inspirational” message of his own.
“I know how hard it is some days to sweep the clouds away and get to sunnier days,” the president wrote. “Our friend Elmo is right: We have to be there for each other, offer our help to a neighbor in need, and above all else, ask for help when we need it. Even though it’s hard, you’re never alone.”
In the past several days three U.S. soldiers were killed by an Iranian drone strike. More than 40 military personnel were injured. And our border has been completely overrun. Meanwhile, the president is conversing with a make-believe puppet.
We know whose hand is up Elmo’s backside. I’m curious to know whose hand is up the president’s…
