Fox 21 News in Colorado reported the school district sent out an email this week to parents explaining the situation and that an investigation is underway. Reports are unconfirmed if teachers actually made kids use duct tape on their masks, or if children did it themselves without being forced to.
If teachers were forcing children to use the tape to secure masks, could this be considered child abuse in the classroom? Many parents believe so.
Conservative commentator Michelle Malkin spoke to Stephanie M., mother of Rylee, a 6th grader caught in the tape incident.
Stephanie told Malkin her daughter texted her “that a teacher gave her a warning and handed her blue painter’s tape to seal the mask to her face.” Another student was allegedly told to do the same.
“It’s wrong. It’s child abuse,” the mom told Malkin. “And it was a horrible decision to implement the mask mandate.”
