COWARD! Martina McBride Chose Politics Over Patriotism
Conservatives erupted in fury after country music star Martina McBride abruptly backed out of America’s 250th birthday celebration, accusing the “Independence Day” singer of snubbing a patriotic event because of politics.

I’d wager a Chick-fil-A sandwich that the real reason McBride pulled out is because she was getting threats from woke leftists.
McBride announced she would no longer perform at Freedom 250’s Great American State Fair, a Washington, D.C., celebration tied to the nation’s semiquincentennial.
“I will not be performing at the Great American State Fair on June 25th,” McBride wrote on social media, according to Entertainment Weekly. “I was presented with an opportunity to perform at a nonpartisan event but that turned out to be misleading.”
McBride said she had been assured the event was “meant to celebrate ALL 50 states,” adding, “Yesterday things started changing and what we were told is, in fact, not what is happening.”
It’s interesting that the country music star has embraced the notion of nonpartisanship. I don’t seem to recall her having any issues performing at the White House when President Obama was in office or when President Clinton was in offoce.
McBride pushed back on suggestions she was abandoning fans or the message behind her music.
“I’ve spent my entire career singing songs about real people with real issues,” she wrote. “I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to be a voice for those who have felt like they didn’t have one. It greatly upsets me that any fan who may have been moved by my music may now feel like I’m abandoning the meaning behind those songs. I assure you, that is not the case.”
She was not the only performer to drop out.
Bret Michaels also backed out of the event – claiming it was going to be too political.
“Unfortunately, what was presented to us as a celebration of our country has evolved into something much more divisive than what I agreed to be a part of,” the rocker wrote. “Concerns have also been raised regarding the safety of my fans, band, crew, family and myself, including threats that are completely unfounded and unforgiveable.”
The Commodores said they would not participate, writing, “Our music has always been our voice and we choose not to publicly affiliate with any single political party. We support the betterment of all Americans,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
Young MC also withdrew, saying, “The artists were never told about any political involvement with the event.”
Morris Day and The Time issued a blunt denial: “Contrary to rumor, Morris Day and the Time will not be performing at the ‘Great American State Fair.’”
Freedom 250 spokesperson Rachel Reisner defended the celebration, saying the organization is a “nonpartisan 501(c)(3) dedicated to uniting Americans around the nation’s 250th anniversary.”
Vanilla Ice, however, said he is still in.
“This is celebrating America’s birthday,” he wrote. “Nothing too serious just enjoying some fun, dancing and great memories.”
It’s really unfortunate that we don’t have more Toby Keiths in the entertainment industry. Over the years Keith performed at the request of President Trump and President Obama. He put politics aside and honored the office of the president.
Kid Rock did the same thing as did Charlie Daniels and the Beach Boys.
I wish I could tell you that I’m surprised by McBride’s cowardice, but I’m not. When it comes to modern-day entertainers, courage is hard to come by. But I am troubled by her lack of patriotism.
Martina McBride had a chance to be a part of a diverse soundtrack to celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday. Instead, she chose to be a partisan rather than a patriot.
