Democrats have decided to abolish the U.S. Senate’s strict dress code. The current rule requires men and women to dress in business attire.

However, that rule has  been changed to accommodate the slobby wardrobe of Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman. Fetterman is often seen wearing a hoodie and baseball shorts on the Senate floor – much the chagrin of his staff.

Heaven forbid we expect grown adults to behave like adults.

And while gym casual may be the new rule for senators, the rest of us still have to dress up. Men are expected to wear a coat and tie and ladies, business attire.

In other words, rules for thee, but not for me.

So the next time you visit the U.S. Senate – you will have to wear your Sunday-going-to-church clothes, But there’s a good chance you will see Sen. Diane Feinstein in a halter-top and Daisy Dukes or Sen. Fetterman may not be wearing pants.
