Four Republican Senators Kill Save America Act
God bless Senator Tommy Tuberville. The Republican from Alabama said what most of us have been thinking for a very long time about the anti-Trump GOP’ers in the Senate.
Last night the Republican-controlled Senate killed the Save America Act. The legislation simply requires voter ID and a proof of citizenship in nationwide elections.

Four Republican senators joined Democrats to kill the bill – Senators Thom Tillis of North Carolina, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and Susan Collins of Maine.
Tuberville blasted his colleagues on social media. He said it is beyond embarrassing. He said the four rogue Republicans betrayed their constituents and they are accomplices in the Democrat Party’s Illegals First agenda.
It’s not the first time this week that Republicans have gone rogue in the Senate or the House.
Eighteen Republicans broke with President Trump and sided with Democrats to pass a massive Ukraine spending bill.
The legislation would provide more than $1 billion in security and reconstruction aid. And it would authorize loans of up to $8 billion for Ukraine’s defense operations.
That’s your tax money. Every single penny.
That money could’ve been used to make sure your neigbhorhood is safe. They could’ve used that cash to stop the mobs of teenagers from looting your small business. Instead, the Republicans gave your hard-earned tax money to Kiev.
And just a few days ago House Republicans colluded with Democrats to pass a symbolic measure to stop President Trump from taking further military action in Iran.
Recent polling data has the congressional approval rating hovering around 13 percent to 27 percent. I’m not a big polling guy – but it would be stupid not to pay at least a little attention to the mood of the electorate.
American First Republicans are angry. The only reason they gave Republicans control of Congress was to push through the president’s agenda. That’s it. But they aren’t even doing that. Many of the president’s executive orders are still waiting to be codified. And until that happens – it’s really political theater.
Take for example the executive orders on boys in girls sports and schools that promote the LGBT agenda. The executive orders clearly state that any school refusing to obey would lose federal funding.
But the school districts are literally ignoring the president’s executive orders. Just do a quick Google search of the number of schools celebrating Pride Month. Or do a Google News search of stories about female athletes who were booted from races to make way for stronger boys.
No teeth to the executive orders – just talk.
That’s not to say that we can’t turn all of this around. The Republican-controlled Congress can still codify the president’s Executive Orders. They can still pass the Save America Act and secure our elections.
But I don’t think that’s going to happen. Majority Leader Thune is not an America First guy. Never has been and he never will. He craves power. And he is also beholden to the snakes and other critters who lurk about in the murky waters of the DC swamp.
It really is a uni-party – because Democrats and Republicans are more concerned about their bank accounts than they are the yours. And they also know something else – that come November President Trump will become a lame duck president. He won’t be able to run for office again. The RINOs may be traitorous – but they aren’t stupid – they can read an expiration date.
All that to say – don’t be surprised if even more Republicans stand up to President Trump and the America First agenda. The Establishment simply sees this as an opportunity to do the least amount of work possible to advance President Trump’s agenda.
I’m voting Republican in the fall – only because I don’t want to see my president dragged through more fake investigations and impeachments. That’s the only reason. And if you are as disgusted as I am with the Republicans – I’m telling you – that’s a good reason for you to vote as well.
Finally, I want to talk to all the Republican lawmakers watching Newsmax right now – and all of the political campaign consultants. This is not doom and gloom. This is not panican time. We are well beyond that. This is survival mode.
America First voters are disgusted with you. You have demoralized the base. That’s why Republicans have not been turning out for primary elections. My good friend Matt Towery – is one of the most accurate pollsters in the business. He said just a few days ago that Democrats are building momentum. In Georgia – more than 150,000 Democrats turned out to vote than Republicans.
Towery is sounding the alarm bells – he’s concerned about declining support for the Republican Party ahead of the midterms. But hope is not lost and the American people are known to be forgiving.
Senator Tuberville is right – The people of North Carolina and Alaska and Kentucky and Maine deserve better.
Pass the Save America Act. Codify the president’s agenda. Put in at least one 40 hour work week. Invoke your inner Tommy Tuberville and all will be forgiven.
