Renowned American evangelist Franklin Graham says he is “doing well and recovering normally” after his heart surgery Monday.
“I want to thank all of you who have prayed for me and shared such encouraging words after my surgery,” Graham tweeted Wednesday afternoon. “It means more than you know. I thank God for the good reports.”

Former Vice President Mike Pence responded to the statement on Twitter calling it “answered prayer!”
The son of Billy Graham successfully underwent specialized heart surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association said in a statement.
“In recent months, Franklin had developed constrictive pericarditis, inflammation, and hardening of the sac around the heart that compresses the heart and prevents it from working properly,” the statement continued. “The surgery involved removing the pericardium.”
His doctors expect a full recovery and assured him that he should be able to return to his normal activity and ministry schedule.
Earlier this week, the evangelist said he is looking forward to traveling the globe in 2022 to “proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Chris and invite people to put their faith in Him.”
