The gay pride flag is now the official flag of Boise, Idaho. Mayor Lauren McLean, a far-left Democrat, pushed the flag change in response to a new state law. That law regulates which flags local governments are allowed to display.
Earlier this year, the Idaho legislature passed House Bill 96, banning government entities from displaying flags except local, state and federal.
“This is a flag that, for over a decade, we have flown because it is a symbol of who we are as a safe and welcoming city,” McLean said. “It is Boise, and the response that we received from local Boiseans makes that clear to all of us that it is Boise.”
Many local citizens were infuriated by the mayor’s decision – basically declaring that Boise pledges allegiance to the rainbow flag. One native resident said the flag in no way represents him or his family.
“There are so many folks that live lives of quiet desperation,” council president Colin Nash said. “I just hope, just once, the City of Boise’s flag, someone will see that and know they are not alone, that there are people here that will support them, wrap their arms around them and let them know that choosing to live and choosing to live authentically is something you can do in the City of Boise.”
What’s happening in Boise and really across the entire state of Idaho is a lesson for the rest of the nation. The land of potatoes has become overrun by far-lefts from California, Oregon and Washington State.
Mayor McLean, by the way, is originally from Boston and lived in New York before moving to Boise back in 1998 and bringing along her far-left baggage.
Maybe they should start checking people’s voter registration cards before letting refugees move across the state line? Idaho would still be a rock-solid red state if only they practiced better border security.
