“I was a victim to it myself.” Trish Regan blasts Cancel Culture

Trish Regan, the former Fox Business Network host, told the “Todd Starnes Radio Show Tuesday that there’s a dangerous trend in the country that essentially ends any debate.

“The minute you shut down, which is happening in this environment, the minute you cover your ears and stomp your feet like a little kid and you refuse to hear another side, we stop progressing,” she said.

Cancel culture is not a new phenomenon but the trend has been gaining pace since the death of George Floyd in police custody. Anyone who questions any element of the Black Lives Matter movement is called a racist and immediately shunned and ruined.

“I was victim to it myself,” Regan said. “The left went crazy because I dared to say, you know, ‘Maybe this is overblown. We have politicized coronavirus too much and it’s going to cost us economically.’ And if you say that, you dare to go outside the given path, they go bonkers.”

ORDER TODD STARNES’ NEW BOOK ‘CULTURE JIHAD: HOW TO STOP THE LEFT FROM KILLING A NATION’

Regan departed Fox Business in March after a monologue where she criticized liberals for rooting for the stock market to crash in an attempt to “destroy the president.” Her defenders said she was treated unfairly and her remarks were not far off from what other prominent hosts at the network said at the time.

Former Fox Nation and Fox News Radio host Todd Starnes left the network after he was ruthlessly attacked by an MSNBC senior producer and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

Starnes ran afoul of the Cancel Culture mob after he said illegal aliens had breached the border and invaded the nation.

“It was the truth,” Starnes said. “But clearly, some folks can’t handle the truth.”

His book, “Culture Jihad,” forewarned that unless freedom-loving patriots took a stand anyone with a dissenting viewpoint would be censored.

President Trump himself has come out and blamed Democrats for not reopening the economy fast enough in an attempt to hurt his 2020 reelection prospects.

Regan praised the latest retail numbers that CNBC said “shattered already-lofty expectations for May.” Sales were up 17.7 percent. Trump tweeted, “Wow! May retail sales show biggest one-month increase of ALL TIME, up 17.7%. Far bigger than projected. Looks like a BIG DAY FOR THE STOCK MARKET AND JOBS.”

Regan said the numbers show that as soon as Americans are free to go shopping “they sure do.”

She recalled the 2008 recession and the slow growth under President Obama and said she remembered thinking that the economy should “explode right back.”

She said under Trump the jobs market exploded last month and now retail sales soared.

“Let’s just keep our fingers crossed that nobody does anything really, really dumb and we are able to continue this growth,” she said.
