Fourteen years ago Stratton Leopold came up with a great way for kids to stay cool and love their country during the month of July.

He started the “I Pledge” project at his ice cream parlor in Savannah, Georgia. Click here to read my new book on how to stop the Marxists from destroying America.

The “I Pledge for Ice Cream” project has now gone national. Ice Cream parlors in 42 states are participating this year.

The Eskimo King in Massachusetts rewards kids with a vanilla or chocolate cone decorated with red, white and blue sprinkles.

“Our theme always is pretty much red, white, and blue,” Megan Medeiros, an Eskimo King employee, told television station WSAZ. “Our boss is big on patriotism. “My boss really wanted to get into it when they started taking the pledge out of schools. She wanted to bring patriotism back into businesses.”

Any kid under the age of 12 who can recite the Pledge of Allegiance from memory wins a free ice cream cone.

“It’s fun to see them of all ages, especially the younger kids because they get nervous when they’re trying to recite it and sometimes they have an older sibling guiding them along. It’s adorable,” employee Lauren Morra told the television station.

The television station reports that dozens of kids have come with their families to show love and loyalty to Old Glory.

“I think it’s really nice to keep patriotism alive in America,” Morra said.

And that’s the cherry on top! Click here to find participating ice cream parlors across the country.
