Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna wanted to fine Garland $10,000 per day until he complied with a congressional subpoena.
But four Republicans betrayed their own party – John Duarte, David Joyce, Michael Turner and Tom McClintock. Republicans in Name Only.
There were a total of 12 Republicans who did not even bother to show up. They were MIA on what I believe was one of the most important votes of the year. Now, some lawmakers had a good reason to miss today’s vote but most did not. They were sabateurs. They wanted to make sure Luna did not have the votes.
Earlier this week House Leadership tried to get Luna to pull her resolution. The House had already voted to hold Garland in contempt – but he was never held accountable. And the Justice Department said they would not move to prosecute their boss.
So why is it so important that Merrick Garland be held accountable?
President Biden broke the law when he was vice president. He was caught red-handed with classified documents. That’s the verdict from Special Counsel Robert Hur.
But Hur declined to prosecute Biden because he said a jury could view the president as a “sympathetic elderly man with a poor memory.
The evidence is reportedly in a series of audio recordings from a deposition. And the videos are so bad – that Attorney General Merrick Garland has banned anyone from listening.
And that brings us to what happened on the House floor earlier today. – Holding Garland in inherent contempt would have allowed not only a fine to be imposed – but the House Sergeant at Arms could have been dispatched to arrest Garland.
And I believe they should have done both. Garland is in contempt of congress. So was Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro. But what Garland is accused of doing is much worse.
Bannon and Navarro refused to testify before the sham J6 committee run by Nancy Pelosi and RINO Queen Liz Cheney.
What Garland is doing is putting this nation in grave danger. That audio would reveal the true mental and cognitive state of the Commander in Chief – which is about a radish shy of being a vegetable.
Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro are in federal custody while Merrick Garland is a free man.
“Merrick Garland put Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro in prison for ignoring a Congressional subpoena by the illegitimate J6 Committee, but House Republicans can’t even bring themselves to fine Garland $10,000 for actively hiding Biden’s mental decline?!?! Democrats are no holds barred in the octagon while we play patty cake. It’s sad to be surrounded by wimps,” Rep. Richard McCormick (R-GA) wrote on X.
The Do-Nothing House Republicans are nothing more than whipped, wimpy wusses.
Garland deserves to spend the final four months of the Biden administration in jail. I want to see FBI agents storming his house in the dark of night – a pre-dawn, guns-drawn raid. I want to see him dragged out of his house in his pajamas – arms and legs in shackles with CNN cameras pre-positioned in the bushes. He deserves to be perp-walked through the Halls of Congress. Instead, House Republicans surrendered — once again.
