Fox Sports host and former NFL star Michael Strahan drew widespread condemnation after he disrespected veterans during a special pre-game show at Naval Base San Diego. Watch the video below.
Strahan was the only person who did not either salute or place hand over heart for the playing of the national anthem.
“Why does Michael Strahan not put his hand over his heart during the playing of our National Anthem?” one fan asked.
“I don’t care what your feeling are you are standing surrounded by men and women who would give their life for you and this country,” one football player wrote on X. “What an absolute classless move by not putting your hand over your heart! I’m done with any show you are a part of!”
Fans were especially upset because Monday is Veterans Day.
“Very disrespectful, Michael Strahan,” one fan said. “Not placing your hand over your heart for the national anthem. If you don’t want to show respect for the country I served. Leave!!!”
The great irony is that Strahan was standing on a ship filled will men and women who are willing to give their lives to defend his freedom. His behavior is not just disrespectful, it’s cowardly.
