The nation’s largest city is on the verge of a disaster of biblical proportions.
New York City voters overwhelmingly chose a Muslim socialist immigrant from Uganda to be the Democrat nominee for mayor. Zohran Mamdani embraced his Muslim faith and his hatred of Israel on the campaign trail. He also openly advocated for a number of Communist-era policies like government-owned grocery stores.
Mamdani is the odds-on favorite to win the general election against current Mayor Eric Adams, who is running as an independent, and talk radio host Curtis Sliwa, running on the Republican ticket.
Mamdani has called for abolishing the New York City Police Dept., ending cash bail, decriminalizing drug possession and ending all cooperation with immigration agents. He also wants to abolish prisons. His platform also called for legalizing prostitution and sex work and banning all guns.
The 33-year-old Muslim campaigned on a promise to abolish medical bills and private health insurance. He also wants to provide free fare on city busses, free child care and a freeze on rent-stabilized apartments.
And by free, he means, that taxpayers must foot the bill.
Mamdani said his proposals would be financed by a massive tax hike on the city’s wealthiest residents. In other words, prepare for a mass evacuation of Wall Street and the Upper East Side. And don’t be surprised if Staten Island secedes from the city.

“This is straight up communism,” NYC Councilwoman Vickie Paladino told me on my Newsmax show. “There’s gonna be the very rich and there’s gonna the very poor, and that’s it. You cannot have free enterprise with a guy like that. Small businesses will collapse, small landlords will collapse.”
Mamdani drew national scorn when he pitched his plan to create government-owned grocery stores – akin to what the Communists did in the Soviet Union era.
Paladino pointed out that the Muslim socialist hasn’t even held a real job other than being elected to the New York Assembly. She blamed his radicalized thinking on the education system.
“We’ve got to thank our education system and the Democrats once again need to thank themselves for creating this debacle that we are in because of the liberal radical left professors that we have teaching in our schools, in our universities. This is a direct product of it,” she said on Newsmax.
And then there’s Mamdani’s antisemitism. He’s a Jew-hater. He refused to condemn the phrase “globalize the intifada.” He also refused to say such language made him uncomfortable. He’s a staunch proponent of the Palestinians. And he said if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stepped foot inside the city limits, he would have him arrested.
Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) represents portions of Brooklyn and Staten Island. She said the radical left had taken over the Democrat party in New York City.
“Make no mistake…If Mamdani is elected mayor, it will be bad for public safety, law enforcement, taxpayers and businesses. The Trump administration will need to step in to keep hardworking and law-abiding New Yorkers safe and stop our city’s economy from crumbling,” the congresswoman wrote on X.
I contend that would be a very big mistake for the Trump Administration to intervene. I have nothing but great respect for the Republican congresswoman, but the president should not lift a finger to help. Not one single federal dollar. If New York City voters elect a radical they should suffer the consequences. My advice is to get out of town while you still can.

“The commentary about NYC Democrats nominating an anarchist-socialist for Mayor omits one point: how unchecked migration fundamentally remade the NYC electorate,” White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller wrote on X. “Democrats change politics by changing voters. That’s how you turn a city that defined US dominance into what it is now.”
Thanks to mass immigration every major American city will eventually be governed by Muslim socialists. The greatest threat facing America is not in the Middle East or in Eastern Europe. It’s right here in our own backyard. The enemy has breached our borders.
Meanwhile, Paladino warned that blue collar New Yorkers may not be willing to accept a Muslim socialist in City Hall.
“You may see an uprising in the streets if this guy should get elected, because we are not ready to take a knee to communism,” she told me.
