The Democrats have made the presidential election all about race and gender. If you don’t vote for Kamala Harris you are a racist and sexist.

Now, some Republicans say it’s best to just ignore the slander. But I disagree.
Here in Memphis – State Representative Justin Pearson recently announced that every Republican in the city is sexist and racist. He also accused white people of dictating how blacks are governed. Ever since I moved back to Memphis I have been astounded by the open racism directed at white people in this city. It’s sinful.
Even more troubling is that so many leaders in this city are afraid to speak out and condemn such racism. The clergy, too.
Today, Tami Sawyer held a political rally where State. Rep. Justin Pearson slandered the Republican Party of Shelby County. On multiple occasions he called my fellow Republicans racists. He said that Republicans “can’t help themselves from being racist.”
Rep. Pearson was educated at an exclusive private college in Maine. He’s been afforded every opportunity in life. But he portrays himself as a recently freed slave. His behavior is appalling.
Rep. Pearson said: “White folk telling us we can’t govern ourselves.”
Now, this is ironic because for decades Memphis has been controlled by black Democrats. At this moment, the mayor is black. The police chief is black. Most of the city council is black. Most of the school board is black and so is the county commission. Even the county mayor is black. Nearly every one of our city’s institutions from top to bottom are controlled by blacks – and overwhelmingly black Democrats.
So, why are Rep. Pearson and Ms. Sawyer so outraged?
Well, it turns out Ms. Sawyer’s opponent is a white Republican woman – a very well-qualified candidate who worked in the clerk’s office for decades. She is a kind and considerate and qualified person. And full disclosure, she got my vote.
A white woman named Lisa Arnold had the courage to run for office and in return she has faced multiple death threats and her good name has been smeared by the racist mob.
The Democrats in Memphis are enraged that a white person would dare run for office in a majority black city.
I will not stay silent as unrepentant racists smear Ms. Arnold or my fellow Republicans. I won’t do it. I’m not afraid of the mob. And you should not be afraid either.
Now, I contend it’s important to confront lies with the truth. And here’s the truth.
The Republican Party in Memphis was founded in the early days of the 20th century by a black businessman. Their intent was to register blacks to vote.
While Democrats were running around in bed sheets burning crosses, Republicans in Memphis were helping black citizens cast ballots.
On a national scale, Republicans should remind the American people that it was Democrats who defended Jim Crow laws. It was Democrats who stood in the way of the Civil Rights Act.
We MUST send a message to the Democrats that we will not be held hostage by racists. I call on everyone to condemn this sort of vile evil. It’s time for freedom-loving blacks and whites to rise up and say “ENOUGH!”
Let’s clean house. Let’s start anew – blacks and whites working together to make our nation great. Imagine what a UNITED States of America! But that cannot happen in Washington, D.C. until it first happens at the foot of the cross.
