It’s a devastating blow to free speech in America.
The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Biden administration and against free speech.
The case is called Murty v. Missouri – it stems from a lawsuit filed by state attorneys general from Missouri and Louisiana.
They accused the Biden administration of colluding with social media companies to censor conservative voices.
The Biden White House would literally send Facebook messages alerting them to content they found offensive. And the content was removed under the guise of combatting misinformation.
This happened to my Facebook page numerous times over the past 4 years.
The Supreme Court in a 6-3 ruling said the states lacked standing to sue. Justice Amy Coney Barrett wrote for the majority. The only dissenting justices were Gorsuch, Alito and Thomas.
The most massive attack on free speech in US history is now Rep. Dan Bishop described it.
“Alito’s dissent is spot-on. “The doctrine of standing is necessary to keep the judiciary within its bounds. Here, it constrains SCOTUS to leave unaddressed ‘arguably the most massive attack on free speech in US history.’ That means it falls to Congress and the President to stop this unconstitutional abuse, and thus far both have utterly failed,” Bishop said.
And Justice Alito warned the country that the court ruling is dangerous and blatantly unconstitutional.
