Two incredibly brave worshipers took down a gunman who opened fire during a Sunday morning church service.
The attack happened at the West Freeway Church of Christ. Two people were killed – including the gunman. A third person was critically injured.
“I would like to point out that we have a couple of heroic parishioners who stopped short of, just anything that you could even imagine, and saved countless lives,” DPS Regional Director Jeff Williams told Fox News in Dallas.
The shooting was captured on a live stream video of the church’s worship service. It shows many people ducking under church pews while a number of armed men rushed toward the shooter.
“Places of worship are meant to be sacred, and I am grateful for the church members who acted quickly to take down the shooter and help prevent further loss of life,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said in a statement. “Cecilia and I ask all Texans to join us in praying for the White Settlement community and for all those affected by this horrible tragedy.”
Take a moment and pray for the victims, their families and the congregation of the church. And give thanks to the Lord that some good guys with guns were able to stop a bad guy with a gun.
