Hello American, I’m Todd Starnes. Stand by for news and commentary next.
The City of Orlando is apologizing after they posted an offensive message about Independence Day.
The city posted a newsletter questioning why people would want to celebrate.
“A lot of people probably don’t want to celebrate our nation right now, and we can’t blame them,” the city wrote in a July 1 update. “When there is so much division, hate and unrest, why on earth would you want to have a party celebrating any of it?”
“But in all seriousness, you know in your heart, Fourth of July fireworks are amazing, especially when you are standing in 90° heat, 100% humidity, next to 100,000 of your closest friends. In that moment, something takes over and we all become united in an inexplicable bond. Yes, America is in strife right now, but you know what… we already bought the fireworks,” the post read.
And they weren’t the only ones lashing out.
Hollywood stars like Katy Perry, Bette Midler and Jessica Chastain were bashing the country — angry over the demise of Roe v. Wade and gun ownership.
“Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi shared a red, white and blue-themed dessert with frosting that spelled out “Separate church & state.”
Krankies cafe – in Winston Salem, North Carolina announced they would be closed on July 4th – but not to celebrate our Independence. A listen on WSJS radio sent me a screenshot of the now revised Instagram message.
Hollywood is literally protesting our freedom.
I find it interesting that millions of people from all over the world are trying to come to America — while Hollywood is trying to leave.
Which, by the way, they are more than welcome to do — thanks to the U.S. Constitution.
As they say – Delta is ready when you are.
So don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord split you.
